Complete the 247texasdefensivedriving.com Defensive Driving / Drivers Safety Course (DSC) to dismiss any one of the moving violations shown on the ticket you were issued from Carrollton, Texas.
You are eligible to request this Texas Defensive Driving course for a Ticket Dismissal if you:
• Have not requested and taken a Texas driving safety course for a traffic offense with the last 12 months.
• Are not currently participating in any Texas defensive driving course for another traffic violation.
You are eligible for a Carrollton Driving Safety Course if:
You have a valid Non-CDL Texas Driver’s License,
You have not already paid your fine which resulted in a final conviction in this case,
You have evidence of financial responsibility (liability insurance),
You are not charged with speeding in excess of 24 miles per hour over the speed limit,
You are not charged with a violation occurring in a construction zone,
You have not taken a Driving Safety Course within the last 12 months to dispose of a citation. (Calculated from the date of course completion to the date of your current citation).
You have provided to this court your DPS Driver Record (see link above). You must pay $10 fee to DPS and use the DPS form to request your driver record. You should receive your driver record from DPS and present it to this court within 90 days of your judgment date (the date your DSC request was granted).
You are NOT eligible for the Driving Safety Course if you received a 10-day extension.
If you are eligible you may sign up for a Driving Safety Course by providing the following to the Court:
Required fee:
Violations not occurring in School Zone – $ 112.00
Violations occurring in a School Zone – $ 137.00
A copy of your valid Texas Driver’s License.
A copy of your liability insurance card or other evidence of the required financial responsibility.
A copy of your driving record from the Texas DPS (you can print a form to mail in or complete the request online to immediately obtain a copy of your driving record).
The Driving Safety Affidavit form below (completed).
Important: Your request must be received by the court on or before the response date at the bottom of your citation.

If you signed up with the court to take a Drivers Safety Course to dismiss a citation but failed to complete the course on time, you may avoid appearing in court by printing out the Show Cause Waiver form, completing it and returning it to the court along with a payment of $200.00. If you chose to do this your citation will go to conviction and will be reflected on your record.
Please note that you can only take defensive driving for ticket dismissal once per year. Additionally you MUST request permission to take the 247texasdefensivedriving.com driver safety course for purposes of ticket dismissal by the appearance date shown on your ticket. To take defensive driving and get your violation dismissed, you must complete these steps with the court.
1. Request permission to take defensive driving for dismissal of your violation by the appearance date shown on your ticket.
2. Complete the course before the deadline established by the Court when or if permission is granted.
3. Obtain a copy of your driving record from Texas Department of Public Safety within the deadline given by the court. (Our company will order this on your behalf for a fee if you select this option during enrollment.)
4. Show proof of driving record and certificate of completion to the Court by the court imposed deadline.
Your certificate of completion will be mailed directly to you at the address you provide during course registration. (If your due date is coming soon, we can rush the certificate to you for an additional fee.)
This Texas Defensive Driving course / Texas Drivers Safety Course (CP156) has been created to adhere to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation specifications and has received approval by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
